Rest

Dear Daughters,

Today as I'm writing to you, I am resting. It has been a busy few weeks and I am tired. Today there were many things to be done, but I made the choice to rest. It isn't easy to make your body slow down when there are piles of laundry to do, a house to clean, drawers and closets to organize, work to finish, and the list could go on. But rest is important, and today I am trying to make it a priority.

We all have the same amount of hours in a day. How we choose to spend those hours is up to us. We may talk with our mouths about what we think is important, but unless our actions match our words, then we really don't have our priorities straight.

There are many, many demands on our time. But sometimes our bodies tell us just to rest. And that's OK. There is no need to feel guilty about resting, or about spending time just being still. As a matter of fact, many times we hear from God more clearly when we are still and quiet.

I pray that you will learn at an early age that taking time to rest is an important part of a well-balanced life.

Psalm 46:10- "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth."

I Love You,

Mom
